Find the local businesses that need your help before you pitch.
Send us a list of roofer, plumber, HVAC or contractor websites. You get a spreadsheet back with how each business can be reached, the services it advertises and the tools its site runs, with the page each finding came from.
No signup. Reply with a CSV, a spreadsheet or a list of links.

The signals agencies actually sell on
A list from Google Maps tells you a business exists. It doesn't tell you whether its website is broken, outdated or missing the basics you sell.
Dead or broken websites
The domain no longer resolves, the certificate is broken or the page is gone. In our test of 180 businesses listed on Google Maps, 11 had a dead domain. These rows are never charged.
No online booking
We tell a real booking tool (Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, Calendly…) apart from a “Book now” button that only opens a contact page.
No tracking or ads tag
Whether the pages we read load Google Analytics, Google Ads, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel or call tracking. No tag on the pages we read is a good opening question about how they measure their leads.
DIY site builders
Wix, GoDaddy, Squarespace, Weebly or WordPress with Divi or Elementor, detected from the site's own code. Never guessed from text.
Domains taken over by lead sellers
The business name is gone and the page now sells calls through a toll-free number. This can mean the owner has lost the domain, which is a good reason to call them.
Hiring and services
Job application forms (often a growing business) and the services each company actually advertises, so you can target roofers who also do gutters, or plumbers with 24/7 emergency service.
How it works
During the beta we run your list for you and send the results by email, so you don't need an account or any setup.
Send your list
Website plus your own record ID for each row. Business name and city are optional. Your IDs come back unchanged, so the results drop straight into your CRM or sheet.
We read each site
The home page plus up to three contact, services, booking or location pages. Duplicates are fetched once. Blocked and broken sites are reported, never forced.
You get a spreadsheet
One row per input row, in CSV or Excel, with a plain-English status, a summary of each finding and the full evidence: source URL and a short excerpt for every claim.
What you get per website
Only what is on the business's own pages. If we didn't see something, the result says “not observed”. It never claims that a business doesn't offer a service.
| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Status | Assessed, blocked, dead (with the reason: DNS, certificate, 404…), parked, or nothing found |
| Emails | The business's own domain first, then Gmail-style addresses. Template leftovers and no-reply addresses are filtered out |
| Phones | Normalised (+15125550142), marked toll-free or local. Numbers shared by several sites on your list are flagged |
| Contact routes | Contact form, booking link, and whether a real online booking tool is in use |
| Services | 24 home-service categories plus your own keywords, graded strong (headline, title) or weak (a passing mention) |
| Site tooling | 45 tools: site builder, analytics and ad tags, call tracking, forms, booking, chat and review widgets |
| Flags | Lead-seller takeover, job application form, your business name or city missing from the site |
| Evidence | Source URL, page section and a short excerpt for every claim, so your team can check it in seconds |
Pricing
You pay for websites where we found something useful. Everything else on your list is free.
$20 per 1,000. A result is useful when we read the site and found at least one contact route, a clearly advertised service or a site tool, with its source.
- First 20 websites free, no card needed
- Each website counted once, even if it's on your list twice
- No subscription. Pay per list by card
- Dead, broken or parked websites (still reported to you)
- Sites that block automated visits
- Sites where nothing useful was found
- Weak, passing mentions only
- Invalid rows and duplicates
Example: 1,000 websites with 780 useful results costs $15.60.
Questions
How accurate is it?
Every claim comes with the page and the excerpt it was taken from, so you can check any row yourself. We don't publish an accuracy percentage yet because we haven't finished an independent, human-checked benchmark. In our own test on 180 home-service businesses from Google Maps, about 4 in 5 reachable websites gave a useful result. Your list will differ.
Which websites work best?
English-language home-service businesses in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia: roofers, plumbers, HVAC, electricians, landscapers, cleaners, remodelers and similar trades. Sites that load all their content with JavaScript give little to read and are reported as such.
Do you verify that emails are deliverable?
No. We report the addresses published on the site and where we found them. Checking deliverability, and whether you may contact someone, stays with you.
How do you treat the websites you read?
We follow robots.txt, read a handful of public pages per site, and report blocks and CAPTCHAs instead of getting around them. We use no logins, proxies or form submissions, and keep only short factual excerpts.
What happens to my list?
We use it only to produce your results and delete the list and the results 30 days after delivery. See the privacy notice.
Who is behind this?
Lead Notebook is a small, independent tool built and run by Morten. Questions and blunt feedback go straight to him at morten@leadnotebook.com.
